Materials for this class are provided by HAM. Curbside pick up information will be sent to enrolled students prior to the first class.
This is an open studio art class designed for adults and teens with special needs, physical limitations, developmental disabilities and/or any neurodiversity. Art making topics are tailored to new and returning students, and include drawing, painting, sculpting, mixed media, and fiber arts. Students are encouraged to express their own vision in this fun, supportive class. An exhibition of work and a celebration highlight the final class.
What do we mean by “open studio?” Open studio means it’s all about choice. Students are presented with a variety of materials and are encouraged to express their own vision in a fun and supportive environment. The instructor presents the materials and how to use them; but the students are in charge of making their own art — and all the creative choices!
Since 1990, "Artistic Expressions," has been an art class with creative, therapeutic and social objectives, and helps build skills, dexterity and self-esteem.
Students will need access to a computer, laptop, tablet or phone with a camera, microphone and internet access for using the Zoom meeting app. Click HERE for more information on our programs for individuals with special needs.
