Box Office Manager and Assistant to the Artistic Director
New Jersey Repertory Company (NJ Rep) is seeking a full-time Box Office Manager/Assistant to the Artistic Director. This position requires multi-tasking and efficient organizing of box office tasks with administrative and assistant duties. Strong computer and phone skills are a must, including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
As the Box Office Manager, candidate must be present for all shows. NJ Rep's main stage productions run from January to November, with six shows each season. Performances run approximately 5 weeks each, and take place on Thursdays and Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m.
-Box Office tasks (answering phones, taking orders, working at shows/front of house, keeping track of subscribers, and subscription renewals, etc.)
-Managing correspondence with playwrights, actors, directors and personnel
-Coordinating, planning and executing special events
-Tracking and managing correspondence with patrons and subscribers
-Working closely with senior management
The right candidate must work independently, be a problem solver who thinks outside the box, and is able to work well in a collaborative atmosphere. This person needs to be able to work nights and weekends during show runs, as well as special events and festivals. Being organized, patient and adaptable with an understanding of how a non-profit theater runs is a plus. Experience with social media and ticketing platforms, such as Heartland Connect, OvationTix, and Emma Mailing is a plus.
Must have reliable transportation.
Salary commensurate with experience.
