Premiere Stages: Call for Lead Teaching Artist Submissions
Premiere Stages at Kean University is seeking creative and dynamic Teaching Artists for part-time, seasonal, and freelance opportunities for the 2018-2019 season. We are looking for experienced teachers in the fields of acting, improv, directing, and playwriting to lead residencies in schools, senior centers, and community centers. Residencies take place in the following counties: Union, Essex, Somerset, Not all residencies are accessible via public transportation, we are specifically looking for teaching artists with cars at this time. Residencies typically compensate between $150-$200 per session. At this time, Premiere Stages does not facilitate musical theatre or dance residencies, if those are your only specialties, please do not apply.
We are also particularly interested in growing our roster of teaching artists who also identify as bi-lingual educators.
Premiere Play Factory, the educational umbrella for Premiere Stages, has introduced theatre to thousands of children across New Jersey, particularly those children in underserved and underfunded school systems. Through our year-round Play Factory Residencies and Camp Premiere summer program, we introduce students to the craft of playwriting and acting with an eye towards increasing literacy, supporting English language learning, modeling the collaborative process, and encouraging self-expression.
Submit a teaching artist resume and cover letter describing teaching experience and specialties to Courtney Little, Producing Associate at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your location and whether or not you have a car.
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, and strongly encourage candidates of color to apply.
