MPAC (Mayo Performing Arts Center) is looking to hire experienced dance and theatre teachers for our school residency programs. MPAC runs several dance and theatre residency programs throughout Morris, Hunterdon, and Bergen counties in reader’s theatre, history, and dance. MPAC teaching artists for school residency programs are professional artists and educators who would work with Director of Education and Education Manager to bring theatre and dance to students in NJ schools while aligning to state curriculum and standards. Residencies range from 6-12 weeks at a time. Candidates must be available during school hours, have their own transportation, and experience teaching elementary and middle school-aged children. Professional experience the performing arts working as a teaching artist or educator
Experience working in various school environments with diverse populations and ages
Strong classroom management skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Willingness to travel to and teach in various school settings in New Jersey
Willingness to attend meetings both at MPAC and on-site at schools
