Education Associate - Paper Mill Playhouse
Paper Mill Playhouse, recipient of the 2016 Regional Theatre Tony Award and one of the country’s premier not-for-profit theaters producing musicals, plays, professional performance training and renowned arts education and access programs, seeks a full-time Education Associate to join its Education and Outreach Department.
Reporting to the Director of Education and the Senior Manager of Education Programs, the successful candidate will lead the daily administrative management and oversight of key education and outreach programs, as well as provide team administrative support to all of the education and outreach initiatives of the award-winning Paper Mill Playhouse Education Department.
The ideal candidate will be an aspiring arts administrator with strong written and verbal communication skills, PC literacy and customer service aptitude. The Education Associate should possess basic bookkeeping affinity and strong database management skills. He/she should have comfort using the Microsoft Office applications including Access, and Adobe Products. Some experience with Tessitura and Education Edge databases are also desirable. Having basic user abilities for common video editing programs is also a plus.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in musical theater and educational theater and already possess knowledge of the existing musical theater canon including classics and contemporary works. Practical experience coordinating larger scale projects, events, arts educational programs or performances is desirable. Candidate must also have strong writing and editing skills. They must have the ability and desire to be a team player, and the flexibility to occasionally work an adjusted schedule that will include some weekends and evenings as seasonal programming requires.
Paper Mill’s status as the State Theater of New Jersey mandates our state-wide reach and strong candidates will have an understanding of the several regions of the state where our programs are implemented off-site. The Education Associate must also possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree with 2-3 years professional experience in arts administration.
