Join the Cultural Access Network Project to honor excellence in opening doors and making arts and culture accessible to all. The morning program will include an opportunity for networking with your peers, a keynote speaker, a featured performance and an awards ceremony.
For 24 years, The Cultural Access Network Project has been providing guidance and resources to the state’s cultural community as they make programs and facilities accessible to people with disabilities and seniors. Great strides have been made in the areas of cultural access where individuals and organizations have demonstrated innovation and leadership.
The 2016 Awardees are:
Leadership Award: Young Audiences of New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania
County Achievement in Cultural Access Award: Cape May County Division of Culture and Heritage
Innovator Awards:Arts Unbound/Matheny Medical and Educational Center’s Arts Access Program
Center for Modern Dance Education
Keynote Speaker: Shannon DeVido
Shannon is a comedian, actress, and singer. She also loves cookies and cupcakes. Feel free to bring them to her shows and gain a new best friend.
She an accomplished actress, comedian, and singer, performing around the country with her longform improv teams (Hell on Wheels, Axis of Evil, and Apocalips) and also tours as a stand-up comedian. Shannon has also performed at the Chicago Improv Festival, Women in Comedy in Boston, Del Close Marathon. Shannon has also appeared on Law and Order: SVU; ABC Primetime’s What Would You Do?, and Sesame Street, along with the independent films, Loop and Special Needs. On stage, she’s appeared Off-Broadway in Still More of Our Parts, The New Hopeville Comics, and Funny As A Crutch.
