Healing Voices: Caregivers' Stories On Stage
Healing Voices is an annual project produced by New Jersey Theatre Alliance as part of The Stages Festival.
Each year, the Alliance partners with a number of member theatres to solicit submissions of playwriting, poetry, and prose reflecting themes of the caregiver experience. Theatres host workshops for writers to further develop their pieces, then weave selected works into an original theatre experience presented as a public reading by professional actors.
The 2020 Healing Voices project is a partnership between New Jersey Theatre Alliance, George Street Playhouse, McCarter Theatre Center, Premiere Stages, and Two River Theater Company.
Submissions are now closed. Thank you to everyone who submitted a piece of writing to this project! Individual theatres will contact selected writers with further information about their participation.
Selected Writers will be invited to participate in writing workshops to further develop their pieces:
Premiere Stages, February 1, 10:00am-1:00pm (Union, NJ)
McCarter Theatre Center, March 14, 1:00pm-4:00pm (Princeton, NJ)
Two River Theater, March 14, 10:00am-1:00pm (Red Bank, NJ)
