LECTURER - 10 months - Theatre Design/Tech
STARTING SALARY RANGE - 58-70K based on experience
Areas of expertise should include lighting design and technology and one or more of the following: sound design, video and projection design and stage or production management.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in Theatre Design and Technology or a related field and a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level is required. MFA and evidence of professional work is preferred. Candidates must be knowledgeable about current methodologies in design and production. Knowledge of health and safety practices is essential. Evening and weekend hours are required.
10 Month Lecturer is a full-time employee who teaches 30 credits per academic year and provides student and learning support services over a ten-month period.
This position begins on September 1, 2021. This is a non-tenure track position that may be renewed on an annual basis. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend and online courses. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable.
Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre, Kean University’s Theatre Conservatory is a strictly undergraduate program and offers BA, BA w/Teaching Certification and BFA D/T and BFA Perf degree programs as well as a dance minor. The University sits on three adjoining campus sites in Union County, New Jersey covering 180 acres, two miles from Newark Liberty International Airport and thirty minutes from New York City.
