For 26 years, Cultural Access Network Project has been providing guidance and resources to the state’s cultural community as they make programs and facilities accessible to people with disabilities and seniors. During this time great strides have been made in the areas of cultural access where individuals and organizations have demonstrated innovation and leadership.
At The 2018 Excellence in Cultural Access Awards luncheon, we will honor two New Jersey-based arts or cultural organizations with the Innovator Award. We are currently seeking nominations for this award. You can self-nominate or nominate another organization.
Winners will enjoy statewide recognition plus a $500 grant to help your organization or an organization of your choice in the advancement of cultural access.
NOMINATIONS ARE DUE BY MIDNIGHT, FRIDAY, MAY 18, 2018
The Innovator Award is presented to a New Jersey non-profit cultural organization that has been innovative and creative in a specific area of arts/patron access. Examples include but are not limited to:
An organization using volunteers to raise funds in support of an arts access initiative. An organization that has found a unique and interesting way to make a performance or exhibit accessible with limited financial resources.
An organization that has found a unique way to make a venue accessible.
An organization that has adopted a position to meet the needs of a qualified employee or volunteer with a disability.
An organization that has developed a unique partnership with another organization in the design of an accessible program or service.
