Actors in a performance of Healing Voices: Caregivers Stories on Stage
We at the New Jersey Theatre Alliance support our theatres in their proactive decisions to follow medical experts’ guidelines for social distancing. Many productions, Stages Festival events, new play readings, classes, and other offerings have been canceled or postponed in an effort to help slow the spread of COVID-19. The economic impact of these closures will be significant, but theatres have put the safety and well-being of their communities first.
In this unprecedented time for our field, we encourage you to stay in touch with the Alliance and our member theatres by visiting our websites and social media outlets for updates. If you purchased a ticket to a performance that has been cancelled, please consider donating your ticket purchase back to the theatre; they could really use your support. If you have a moment, send your theatre a message that you appreciate their work and look forward to joining them again in the future; that positive thought will go a long way.
We are grateful for the collaborative action, leadership, and courage of our theatre community and partners, and for the generosity and understanding of our theatre patrons. New Jersey Theatre Alliance is here to support our theatres, artists, and communities. Please stay safe and let us know how we can help.
