The costume crew member is responsible for assisting in creating and maintaining the costumes for each production. They will work closely with the Costume Designer to prepare the costumes for every production. Will assist in costume preparations, fittings, and alterations. Will also be responsible for maintaining a neat and organized costume storage.
They will also be responsible for being at each performance as wardrobe crew. Responsibilities will include assisting in costume changes, pre show preparations, cleaning and upkeep. The costumes will need to be checked and cleaned nightly according to Equity standards, with any issues being addressed quickly and efficiently.
This full time position begins Aug. 17th and runs to Nov. 23rd. Salary is $14/hr and weekly hours are expected to be 30 - 38 hours.
Assist the costume designer with preparing the costumes for each production
Iron, wash and repair costume pieces as needed
Attend fittings and rehearsals as needed
Work strikes and load-ins as needed
Work wardrobe for all performances
Assist Actors with costumes
Address any immediate or long term issues
Communicate with the Costume Designer on regular basis
Run and assist in quick changes for each performance
Do the dry cleaning and laundry according to Equity standards
Other duties as assigned by the Production Manager, Artistic Director, or Costume Designer
