This free community discussion will include a panel of five experts who can provide insight into the process of adoption in the Mercer County Area. It will also touch on how families can prepare for welcoming a child into their home and what to consider when choosing adoption. The topic is linked to our upcoming production of Caitlin Parrish's play A TWIST OF WATER, which will play at the Mill Hill Playhouse from April 30 - May 17, 2020. In A TWIST OF WATER, Noah, a widowed history teacher, struggles to find hope in the wake of his husband’s death. When their adopted daughter Jira decides that she wants to seek out her birth mother, Noah and Jira are forced to reexamine both their own identities and their relationship to each other. Set against the backdrop of Chicago, this poignant play explores the definition of family and the love we find when we allow ourselves to heal.
