McCarter Theatre Center is currently seeking creative, dedicated, multi-disciplined, and passionate individuals to join our team of teaching artists. Located on the campus of Princeton University, McCarter is one of the nation’s most active cultural centers. McCarter produces a vibrant six-play Theater Series and is a major presenter of the performing arts. McCarter’s educational programs include after school, in-school, student matinees, creative aging, community partnerships, and audience engagement programs. With a dual emphasis on artistry and social-emotional skills, McCarter is deeply invested in the ways that theater education can enrich personal growth.
Lead and assistant teaching artist opportunities span from summer camp and afterschool classes to community partnerships and in-school residencies, serving PreK-12th grade students and adults. We are also always interested in hearing from emerging costume, scenic, lighting, and prop designers looking to bring their talents to educational theater.
Prior teaching experience is required. Final candidates are required to successfully complete a background check. Our teaching wage is competitive, and ongoing professional development opportunities are offered.
