Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, New Jersey, a pioneer in the not-for-profit regional theater movement opened its doors in 1938 and has been recognized throughout the industry for the artistry of its productions and commitment to supporting the development of new works and emerging artists. A nationally recognized center for musical theater education and performance, its award-winning arts education, artist training, and outreach programs impact thousands of students each year. Paper Mill productions have moved to Broadway, toured nationally, been filmed for Showtime, PBS and produced original cast recordings. Most recently Paper Mill Playhouse earned New Jersey fame by creating such national tours as Little House on the Prairie: The Musical, The 25th Anniversary Production of Les Miserables and Happy Days: The Musical. Recently, Paper Mill Playhouse’s production of Disney’s Newsies moved directly to Broadway, winning two Tony Awards and remained at the top of the sales charts for Broadway for two years.
