Ritual4Return

Newark, NJ

Member overview

Ritual4Return, Inc. creates theatrical homecoming rites of passage for individuals making the journey back into the community after incarceration. Operating from within the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, R4R engages returning citizens in a 12-week theatrical devising process in which they work individually and collectively to tell their stories and prepare to reintroduce themselves to their family, loved ones, and neighbors. The project culminates in a one-time-only public workshop, homecoming ritual, and community celebration.

R4R creates creative, healing, transformative spaces that includes everyone impacted by the effects of mass incarceration.
